Unlinked mentions
When another note names this one without linking to it, Flints finds it for you.
You will not always remember to type [[ ]]. You write a note's name in an
ordinary sentence and it stays ordinary text.
Unlinked mentions finds exactly those: places where another note names this one without linking to it.
Where it appears#
Below the note, after backlinks, as a third section. Each row shows the other note's name and the sentence the mention sits in — so you can judge the suggestion without opening anything.
- Link turns that occurrence into
[[name]]in the other note. - Link all does every suggestion at once.
Once linked, that note appears in backlinks and on the connection map immediately.
What is deliberately ignored#
A suggestion is only useful if it is not noise, so several things are skipped:
- Anything already linked — text inside
[[name]]. - Code blocks and inline code — a word inside code is not a link.
- Matches inside longer words —
Deep Workis not found in "Deep Workflow". - Very short names — titles under four characters are skipped, because they turn up in almost every sentence.
Capitalisation does not matter: deep work is found too.
When it is most useful#
Right after writing a new note. If you have covered the topic before, Flints surfaces those older notes and one click connects them. This is how the graph grows on its own.
