Slash commands

The slash menu is the fastest way to insert a block in Flints.

Using it#

Type / on an empty line or at the end of some text. The menu opens immediately, with a preview of the highlighted block beside it.

Then:

• Filter the list by typing part of the name — /tab finds Table.
• Move with ↑ and ↓.
• Choose with Enter or Tab.
• Close with Esc.

You can also click with the mouse.

Sections#

The menu is grouped:

• Suggested — the ones people reach for most: to-do, heading, image, table.
• Basic — every text block, lists, quote, callout, code, table.
• Media — image, drawing, bookmark.
• Coming soon — features that are not ready. Selecting one shows a notice.

Tip#

The slash menu inserts a block. If you want to change the type of a block you have already written, use Turn into in the block menu instead — that keeps your text.
