The knowledge map

Seeing all your notes and the connections between them as an interactive graph.

The map is your whole knowledge base at a glance. Every dot is a note, every line is a wikilink.

Opening it#

Two ways:

  • The Map button in the sidebar.
  • The map icon in the tab bar.

Controls#

  • Drag empty space to pan.
  • Scroll to zoom.
  • Drag a dot to move it.
  • Click a dot to open that note.

What the dots mean#

A dot's size depends on how many neighbours it has. A heavily linked note appears larger — usually these are the central themes in your thinking.

Dots sitting alone are notes with no connections. That is not necessarily bad, but linking them to something is often worth doing.

Sharing the map#

In map view there is a globe button in the top bar. It lets you publish the map and share the link, choosing which notes are visible. See sharing folders and maps.

The small map#

Each note also has a small map at the bottom showing just that note and its immediate neighbours.
