Folders
Grouping notes into folders, moving them, renaming, and deleting.
Folders are a simple way to group notes. They do not replace wikilinks — they work alongside them: a folder answers "where does this live", a wikilink answers "what is this related to".
Creating a folder#
Click Folder in the sidebar and type a name.
Moving a note into a folder#
Hover over a note and a move button appears on the right. Click it and choose a folder. You can also create a new folder from that menu.
To take a note out of a folder, choose No folder.
Expanding and collapsing#
Click a folder name to show or hide the notes inside. The state is remembered, so closing and reopening the browser keeps your layout.
Managing a folder#
The three-dot button on a folder gives you:
- Rename
- Share — publish the whole folder by link. See sharing folders and maps.
- Delete — removes the folder, but not the notes inside it. They simply become unfiled.
The breadcrumb#
Above the list in the sidebar, your current location is shown: Main → folder name → note. Click any part to go back up.
