Block types

Every block type in Flints and what each one is for.

Here is every block available in Flints. Each can be inserted from the / menu or reached through Turn into in the block menu.

Text blocks#

Block	What it is for	Shortcut
Text	An ordinary paragraph	`Ctrl` + `Alt` + `0`
Heading 1	The main heading of a section	`#` or `Ctrl` + `Alt` + `1`
Heading 2	A subsection	`##` or `Ctrl` + `Alt` + `2`
Heading 3	A third level	`###` or `Ctrl` + `Alt` + `3`
Quote	Text taken from somewhere else	`>` or `Ctrl` + `Shift` + `Q`

Headings automatically appear in the outline.

Bulleted list — - or Ctrl + Shift + 8
Numbered list — 1. or Ctrl + Shift + 7
To-do list — Ctrl + Shift + 9. Click the checkbox to tick an item; completed items are struck through.

Inside a list, Tab indents and Shift + Tab outdents.

Hides a block of text behind a triangle you can open and close. Good for keeping long notes compact.

A tinted box for an important note, a warning, or a tip. Click the emoji on the left to change it.

A horizontal rule for separating sections. Typing --- also works.

Shows a link as a tidy card instead of raw text.
