Introducing /draw: Freehand Drawing in Flints

Sometimes a thought is a picture, not a paragraph. Starting today, you can sketch it right inside any note with /draw.

Draw where you think#

Type /draw in a note (or use the + menu and pick Media → Drawing) and a canvas appears. Click it and draw — no tabs, no file downloads, no leaving the note. The scribble lives inside your note like any other block, so it moves with your ideas, appears on the map, and exports with your content.

Tools you actually need#

• Pen — the default. Draw with the color of your choice from the swatch strip.
• Eraser — remove part of a stroke without touching the rest.
• Select & resize — grab a part of the drawing, move it, or scale the canvas to give a sketch more room.
• Lasso — select a freeform region and delete or rearrange it.
• Undo & Clear — backtrack stroke-by-stroke, or wipe the whole canvas.

Why it feels crisp#

Every stroke is stored as vector data, not pixels. That means you can resize a drawing as big as the page allows and it never blurs — a diagram stays sharp on any screen. And because sketches are ordinary blocks, anything you draw also appears on shared notes and public links.

A few ideas to try#

• Whiteboard a process — draw a flowchart before you write the paragraphs.
• Mark up a screenshot — drop an image, then draw arrows and circles on it.
• Map mentally — in graph view, a drawing is a sibling of the notes around it, so a picture can be part of the network too.

Open a note, type /draw, and put the idea down on paper — your notes just got a pencil.
